Leonardo Da Vinci's Ideal Museum

founded by scholars and artists such as the first museum on the complexity of Leonardo da Vinci artist, scientist, inventor and designer in relation to his biography, his territory and to its timeliness, has realized in concrete terms the theories of the Imaginary Museum and The Mundaneum in continuous growth. The Museo Ideale Leonardo Da Vinci, her vocation of yard of research, rediscovery philological and creativity, pursues inter alia three major objectives, namely to spread the knowledge of a Leonardo more true, brilliant and current beyond stereotypes, rhetoric and legend; investigate and submit the Leonardo "lost" and report the results of new studies and interpretations also directed to his "legacy" and his school (from Achademia Leonardi Vinci to followers designed by Leonardo Da Vinci); and finally, reread and connect his work with both the Renaissance context, both in contemporary culture. Started in 1972 as a collection in progress of different materials, ancient and modern (Leonardo, ethno-anthropological assets of the territory of Vinci and of contemporary art in relation to Leonardo), aimed at creating collections of works of art, artifacts and documentary materials, including those otherwise destined to finish dispersed. The collection includes paintings original antique (tables) of the school of Leonardo, instruments of his time and of his native land (as the "Ritrecine of Leonardo"), rare engravings (including "nodes" 1506-8 of Durer on a drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci); working models to art from its projects; wonders of Leonardismo (by memorabilia vintage two autographs of Duchamp and thousands of works and finds in progress) until the "Dome of Arts and ideas" of Buckminster Fuller inspired by Leonardo. Also exposes the works that are entrusted in the deposit by collectors, private Italian and foreigners, or on loan from other museums and libraries.
