It's beginning the second edition of the festival dedicated to chefs and local dishes revisited in a gourmet key. And so Cortina comes alive and revives. Saturday 8 September the center of the famous town near Belluno will be transformed into an outdoor restaurant with tastings, menus prepared by starred chefs, a golf tournament and Pink Saturday reserved for shopping. Ampezzo cuisine but in street food version, revisited by fifteen of the best chefs in Cortina d'Ampezzo and surroundings. Saturday will start the second edition of "The Queen of taste", the gastronomic festival born in the shadow of the Dolomites, in the name of conviviality and style organized by Cortina for Us.

For a whole day the charming town center will turn into a huge outdoor restaurant. At noon on the dot the long Corso Italia will host the StrEat Lunch, an exclusive signature lunch that includes an aperitif and a five-course menu prepared by six of the chefs of the most prestigious restaurants in the valley and neighboring streets.

The event was created with the aim of making known the enogastronomical traditions of the Queen of the Dolomites and highlight the typical products of the valleys of Ampezzo.

THE VILLAGE AND THE TERRITORY

Cortina

Cortina is a land that really needs no introduction. But we at bghimagazine tell you a bit anyway. The Tofane, the Pomagagnon, the Cristallo, the Faloria, the Sorapiss, the Becco di Mezzodì, the Nuvolau group and the Croda da Lago. What are they? The mountains that from here you can see and love. Center in the middle also of the Ladin culture, Cortina has a vast territory, so as to be second only to the regional capital of Venice. Springs, streams and waterfalls. Here there is something for everyone. The municipal seat is at 1200 meters but clearly there are peaks that reach and exceed 3000.

City also rich in monuments.

To see: the church of saints Filippo and Giacomo, that of Sant'Antonio da Padova, of the Madonna della Difesa and of San Francesco.

Countless facilities for winter tourism and skiing.

A classic, charming place. That historical winter tourism, often portrayed in the films of the Italian comedy as a soothing place of bourgeois escape. But the cult film Il conte Max, 1957, with Vittorio De Sica and Alberto Sordi, directed by Giorgio Bianchi, was also filmed here.
