100 hikes along the Modena Apennines that will accompany you throughout the summer

100 hikes along the Modena Apennines that will accompany you throughout the summer

This year, Camminappennino 2017, the excursion programme organized by the trekking group "La Via dei Monti", offers a very busy agenda of appointments, that will allow you to rediscover the most fascinating places of the Modena Apennine from June to October, including the villages that are usually forgotten.

The programme includes 100 hiking trails with environmental hiking guides that have been operating in Apennines for years, and enjoys the patronage of the municipalities of Fanano, Fiumalbo, Frassinoro, Montecreto, Pievepelago, Riolunato, Serramazzoni, Sestola and the Tuscan town of Abetone-Cutignano For Parks and Biodiversity of Emilia Centrale (Parco del Frignano), the consortium Valli del Cimone, Cimone Holidays and the Appenninando association. From classical excursions to the Arcane Cross and Lake Scaffaiolo to Fanano, Cimone, Giovo Mountain Ring or the Bucamante Falls in Serramazzoni, to the less crowded places, but not least for this, such as the waterfalls of the Valdarno, the old secular bee trail in Fiumalbo, to abandoned villages and the Montecreto mines.

The aim of the initiative is to combine the love for nature with experiences that will make you feel unforgettable emotions, such as the time of dawn or sunset up in the mountains, or the visit of ancient villages hidden in our forests. There are hikes suitable for everyone: from long hiking to the ridges that touch the 20 km, to the simple walks dedicated to children, always with the added value of a guide, which besides safely accompanying people, will tell the natural secrets, fauna And the flora, history and traditions of our Apennines, which will make the walk even more pleasurable. In addition, some novelties: during the journey there will be yoga and music sessions.

The initiative is gaining ever greater interest and Fanano's major, Stefano Muzzarelli, is very pleased with this project that unites both young and old, thanks to a simple activity to be practiced like trekking, which, if done in company with a guide that tells anecdotes and curiosities, becomes even more enjoyable.
